The fastest way to understand Molela work is to try it. A session starts with the clay itself — how it is cleaned, tempered and beaten into a slab — and ends with each participant having raised a small relief of their own from a flat surface, the same way every plaque in this workshop begins.

Sessions are led by Dinesh Chandra Kumhar, who has demonstrated the craft at exhibitions in India and abroad and has taught it in schools, colleges and design institutes. They run in the family workshop at Molela — eleven kilometres from Nathdwara, so it fits inside a Shrinathji trip — or at your own venue for institutions and groups.
